My First Visit

Consultation

On your first visit to our office you will be greeted with a warm smile and welcomed as a member of our family. If you have health insurance you will be asked to present your card so that we can make a copy for our records and verify your coverage. You will then be asked to fill out some forms which will help us gain important information about you and your condition.

Dr. Smith will then talk with you and ask you some specific questions regarding your condition to determine if he feels chiropractic care may be of benefit to you. If he feels he can help you, he will tell you. If he feels he cannot help you, he will refer you to a doctor that will be able to help you the most. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent. Each care plan is custom designed for the individual.  Cookie -cutter treatment plans do not exist at Active Life Chiropractic.  Have you ever heard of an office that tells every patient they need 60 treatments?  We have too, and you will not find that here.  If our care can help you we will present options that are agreeable and reasonable.

Examination

After a thorough consultation with the doctor, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include a detailed orthopedic and neurological examination to help establish which parts of your body are injured and most likely causing your problems. Next, a digital computerized postural analysis may be performed. This enables the doctor to detect and measure abnormal positions of the head, shoulders, ribcage, pelvis, knees and feet. If necessary, the doctor may take x-rays or refer you for additional testing procedures.

X-Rays

X-rays are sometimes required to get a full evaluation of the patient. Properly taken spinal x-rays are like a blueprint of your spine and often hold the key to discovering the underlying cause of your pain and discomfort.

Report of Findings

Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will have you schedule for a report of findings. This is when the doctor will explain what he found, whether he can help you, how long it will take to correct and how much it will cost.

Treatment

Most of our patients begin to see results from the very first adjustment. Dr. Smith is proficient in a variety of adjusting techniques. This allows him to be gentle enough for kids (they love us) and seniors, yet able to restore function and movement for the athlete.
